In accordance with the Federal law dated 24.10.1997 N 134-FZ "On the subsistence minimum in the Russian Federation", the laws of the Moscow region N 13/98-OZ"On the subsistence minimum in the Moscow region", N 28/2013-OZ"On the consumer basket in the Moscow region" and resolution Government of the Moscow Region dated July 10, 2013 N 518/29 "On approval of the procedure for calculating the subsistence minimum per capita and for the main socio-demographic groups of the population in the Moscow Region" The Government of the Moscow Region decides:

1. Set the subsistence minimum in the Moscow region for the first quarter of 2014 per capita - 8533 rubles, for the able-bodied population - 9478 rubles, pensioners - 6402 rubles, children - 8209 rubles.

2. The Main Directorate for Information Policy of the Moscow Region, within two weeks after the signing of this resolution, ensure its official publication (placement) in the newspaper "Daily News. Podmoskovye" and on the Internet portal of the Government of the Moscow Region.

3. This resolution comes into force 10 days after its official publication.

Is very important indicator taken into account in the calculation of all social benefits, and allowances. Since its value depends on the level consumer prices, then it is revised quarterly for each of the 3 individual categories of the population: able-bodied citizens, pensioners and children. In addition, each subject of the Russian Federation sets its own subsistence minimum, depending on the level of consumer prices in a particular region.

In the 2nd quarter of 2013, the living wage in Russia as a whole amounted to 7,372 rubles, including 7,941 rubles for able-bodied citizens, 6,043 rubles for pensioners, and 7,104 rubles for children.

How much will the cost of living increase in Russia in 2014?

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the subsistence level in 2014 will increase by about 6% and will amount to 8,200 rubles in the whole country. However, this figure may be revised if the level exceeds the expected 5%.

For the first quarter of 2014, the Government of Russia increased the subsistence minimum by 362 rubles, and compared to the fourth quarter of 2013, the subsistence minimum increased by 5.1%. At the same time, the average subsistence minimum for the able-bodied population in the future will be 8283 rubles, for pensioners - 6308 rubles, for children - 7452 rubles.
