What is online P2P transfer and why is it the future of banking services. Services for P2P money transfers from card to card Visa and Mastercard P2p from card to card

Updated 11/16/2019.

In today’s article we will analyze in detail one of the most necessary techniques for anyone, which allows them to more quickly manage their savings - translation Money from card to card.

Transfer from card to card by card number has many different names: card2card, card-to-card, MoneySend, Visa Transfer, Visa Direct, C2C, moneysend, c-to-c, etc. However, the essence of such transfers is, of course, the same: you need to enter the card number, its expiration date and cvc2 (cvv2) code of the card from which you are sending money (donor card), as well as the card number where you want to send the money, and the transfer amount itself .

It is important not to confuse interbank transfers (you must indicate the account number, bank BIC, payment purpose) with Card2Card transfers. Their mechanism is completely different. To simplify a little, interbank transfers are made using the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and C2C can be compared with ordinary card purchases that occur thanks to International Payment Systems (IPS: MasterCard, Visa) and. You can read more about interbank transfers.

Card-to-card services can be found on the websites of many banks, payment services, various financial portals, even on the website banki.ru there is a card-to-card transfer service provided by Alfa-Bank:

However, operators usually want a commission for such transfers, 1.5-2% of the amount. Usually, but not always. Professional investors use the C2C service exclusively free of charge.

The fact is that some banks allow using Card2Card transfers to top up their cards from cards of third-party credit organizations without commission. In the language of professional investors, this operation is called “pulling”.

It is also important to remember that some banks prohibit making their cards free donors, i.e. they introduce a commission for withdrawing money from their cards, but there are still not many of them. First things first.

Free replenishment of the card using Card2Card transfers. Contraction

In order to withdraw funds for free to the cards of the banks listed below, you need to use the Card2Card service of these banks. Those. to top up, for example, a Tinkoff Black card from a Sberbank card, you need to go to the Tinkoff Internet bank and initiate a transfer from there (so that there is no commission on the part of " Tinkoff Bank", nor from Sberbank). If you use the C2C service of Sberbank, then commission from Sberbank cannot be avoided.

So, you can withdraw money for free to the following cards through the appropriate services:

1

The monthly limit (calendar) is 20,000 rubles/month, the amount of one transfer must be from 3,000 rubles.

Conclusion

Card2Card transfers may seem complicated, and it's easy to get confused with all the pushing and pulling. There are too many things to consider in order to make transfers from card to card without commission. However, there is nothing complicated about it, anyone can figure it out if they want, of course :)

C2C transfers save a lot of time, because... allow you to increase the number of transactions that can be performed without visiting a bank branch.

These transfers are especially helpful in small towns where the choice of credit institutions is limited. If there is nothing in your city except Sberbank, this does not mean that you need to use only its services.

Deposits and cards can be opened in other credit institutions, offering more attractive conditions when you are in major cities. And leave your native Sberbank only for transit. It is enough to replenish the Sber card, then withdraw money to some “Kukuruza” or “Beeline” with PNO, and then send it interbank to any other credit institution.

Thanks to transfers from card to card (free, of course), you can get rid of the need to go to a bank branch (if the bank does not have free outgoing interbank transfers) when the deposit expires and then drag around the city with cash.

Therefore, you need to have several, with the possibility of free pulling from other cards, as well as from convenient replenishment(donor cards) and alternate them periodically.

You provide services, but you are not an entrepreneur. You have decided to sell something. You are paying for everyone. You need to pay off your debt credit card. Here is just a small list of situations when you need to transfer money from one person to another.
In general, there are several options for transferring money: give in cash, transfer using electronic money, make a payment via Internet banking, make a transfer from a bank account to bank card Visa or Mastercard. Each method is good in its own way, but the cards still rule!
I was interested in doing a review of Russian P2P transfer services using bank cards.

As of July 2013, 6 services were found for transferring funds from card to card using Visa Money Transfer® and MasterCard MoneySend® technologies:

Below the cut you can find specific recommendations. I invite the public to use, clarify and supplement.

Comparison of methods: Cash, E-Money, Online Banking, Visa / Mastercard

About card number... The sender of money needs to know the recipient's card number in most card-to-card transfer services. The card number in itself is not enough for scammers to take possession of your money. But still, if you guess the month and year, then in some cases you can carry out a transaction, and neither CVC, nor first and last name, nor 3DSecure are needed. Therefore, you should not tell everyone right and left the card number and publish it in the public domain.

ABOUT 3D Secure(3DS)... This is already a well-known technology for protecting bank cards - it involves confirming the operation by entering a code from an SMS, a one-time code from a scratch card or an ATM statement, or a payment password. 3DS authentication is equivalent to an electronic digital signature - i.e. such a transaction is almost impossible to protest. Not all cards support 3DS, because... technology for banks costs a lot of money. Here is a partial list of banks who support 3DS.
Some leading banks implement the service frankly poorly. For example, VTB24 - in order to activate 3DS on the card, you need to go to the bank and write an application. Or, for example, Sberbank - in order to get a list of codes, you need to take care of this in advance and print out a statement with 20 codes at the ATM. By at least This was the case until recently.
According to experts, yes personal experience, normal support for 3DS is implemented in only 50% of bank cards in Russia.

Cash- the simplest option. But what if there is no cash: there is not enough money, you forgot your wallet, there is nowhere to change it, the ATM is far away.
Electronic money not versatile enough. They are suitable if both people use them, and the same ones at that. If the e-money is different, there is a need to exchange them. This is becoming more and more difficult and expensive, and certainly not instantly. And so the transfer within a specific PS is instant, the commissions for the transfer are minimal, or even zero. There are still commissions for cash withdrawals - at the level of 2-3%.
Bank transfer not fast. Online banking assumes that the sender and recipient have Internet banking in any of the banks. But even if so, this method can only be considered instant if the sender and recipient have accounts opened in the same bank. Otherwise, the transfer takes from 1 to 3 calendar days, the commissions are different: from a fixed 20 rubles without %%, to 3% of the amount.
Bank card as a means of payment is the simplest and most understandable. The cards have maximum coverage and are accessible to anyone from the crowd. Visa and MasterCard have long invented acquiring, but it is only available to companies (and entrepreneurs). For ordinary people - individuals- technologies for secure transfer of funds from one person’s card to another’s card have been implemented: MasterCard MoneySend and Visa MoneyTransfer (or Visa Personal Payments).

Comparison of P2P transfer services from card to card

Comparison of service fees
I figured out how much the real commission would be for transferring 300, 500, 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 15,000 rubles. The results were interesting: from 0.5% to 16.7%.

It’s easier to see everything on a graph:

As I already wrote, some banks offer special conditions for transferring funds to own cards(in the table and graph these are options "min"). For example, "Alfa Bank" offers 0.5% + 30 rub. instead of 1.95% + 30 rub. for the translation. Russian Standard Bank" offers 0.5% + 50 rub. instead of 1.90% + 50 rub. Agree, it is reasonable to use the services of those banks that face the client.

Results
Find the most profitable terms in a given situation it is possible, knowing transfer amount, type of sender and recipient cards(Visa or Mastercard) and bank that issued the recipient's card.

  • MasterCard Mobile- the most balanced service, but for transfers only between MasterCard cards any banks. The sender needs to register with the service. Lowest commission when transferring amounts up to 1000 rubles. Oddly enough, the much-vaunted Visa system did not bother to launch anything like this for its cards (author's note).
  • PayOnline- the most universal service. The lowest commission for transfers between Visa cards for an amount less than 500 rubles.
  • Alfa Bank- the lowest commission when transferring from any card to an Alfa-Bank card, starting from the amount of 1000 rubles.
  • Russian standard- the lowest commission when transferring from any card to a Russian Standard card, starting from the amount of 3,000 rubles.
  • Qiwi- oddly enough, it loses to everyone if the transfer amount is more than 1000 rubles.
  • RuRu And Russian standard- the most greedy for transfers of less than 1000 rubles.

Who needs this and why?

In what situations can P2P transfer services be useful?
  • You provide services. You are not an entrepreneur, you do not have a cash register or POS terminal with you, and you are also not ready to issue bills and acts yet - all this is only in the near future. Are you a freelancer, a remote worker, or a hairdresser, massage therapist - or anyone. You have done the work, you need to get the money, here and now.
  • You decided to sell something from old trash. We posted an ad, a person comes, everything is ok, you give away your trash, the person gives you money. And all this must be done at the same time.
  • You are paying for the entire company. You relax in a bar or restaurant, and at the end you receive a single bill. Someone may not have change or the required amount of cash. Others would like to pay by card. And it begins. As a result, one person pays using the card, others pay in cash, and it would be nice to get money from the rest, too, because... there is a chance that we will not see them again, or they will not deliberately forget about it.
  • You urgently need to send money. There are different situations, incl. and with people dear to us. Sometimes there is simply no time to sort things out and look for the nearest Western Union or Contact, either for yourself, or especially for the recipient of the transfer.
  • You need to pay off your credit card debt. Sometimes it happens that you need to throw money at yourself. The end of the month is approaching, and then you remember that you got into credit limit. The most annoying thing is that it can be just a little, for example, the monthly fee for SMS has been deducted. And that’s it, if you don’t top up 50 rubles on time. - a negative credit rating is guaranteed for a long time.
