In 2014, 4 km from the Moscow Ring Road in the town of Khimki near Moscow, construction began on a large-scale residential complex with the eloquent name " solar system". The development company "Urban Group" positioned it as a mini-city, which would have everything necessary for a comfortable life for new residents, and the houses would be grouped around a central square, like planets around the Sun. Well, such a wonderful idea was realized, but not completely. Interfered to the developer, a bankruptcy process initiated by the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights, which began in the summer of 2018. If we characterize this project in general, we can confidently say that it is one of the largest and most unique in the city of Khimki. When you enter the complex, you will immediately feel like you are in ancient Europe. All houses have an attractive and vibrant architectural concept, and their own infrastructure and excellent location make the quarter unique.

As part of the residential complex "Solar System" it is planned to build 14 buildings of variable number of floors. Their height ranges from 5 to 17 floors. The project was created by the famous architectural bureau "Architectural Studio of Maxim Atayants". It was founded in 2000 and has been successfully designing residential and commercial real estate for almost two decades.

Construction was carried out using monolithic frame technology, which gives the buildings a strong and reliable frame, high levels of energy efficiency and waterproofing, durable facades and a stable foundation.

Lord of the Rings

The architectural concept is very non-standard and represents a ring. From the central house, like the rays of the sun, streets and pedestrian sidewalks diverge. The buildings are interconnected by a system of stylobates and bridges for pedestrians. In all courtyards there are green areas for recreation and leisure, grounds for sports and playgrounds. By the way, it is worth noting that all public areas will be elevated relative to parking lots and highways. This will significantly improve the safety of pedestrians and children.

The facades are finished with different materials, depending on the number of floors. The lower floors are finished in stone and painted brown. The middle ones are made in bright, cheerful colors with pastel shades. Starting from the 9th floor, brick of dark shades dominates. Thus, the creators of the project created a panorama of natural granite rocks. The ceiling heights in apartments vary: from 2.7 to 4 m.

In total, the complex has more than 5,300 apartments. General living space the project is 230 thousand sq. m. m. For the government program under which long-term construction will be financed, it is important to complete the houses as soon as possible in order to transfer them to shareholders.

The residential complex "Solar System" is being built in the city of Khimki, which is a satellite of Moscow. The area is not inferior to the capital in terms of infrastructure development and transport accessibility.

The presented quarter is located 4.5 km from the Moscow Ring Road along the Leningradskoe Highway. If you decide to get to the capital this way, be prepared to waste time in traffic jams. New residents have several giants of shopping and entertainment infrastructure within walking distance, namely:

  • megamarkets "OBI" and "Auchan";
  • Shopping center "Mega Khimki" with a skating rink, cinema and amusement park;
  • BC "Khimki Business Park";
  • Shopping center "Dream".

Also nearby there are a lot of different shops, supermarkets, cafes, service stations and gas stations, and there is a construction market. But you need to get to the nearest hospitals, schools and kindergartens, stadiums, fitness clubs and beauty salons either by public transport or by private car. The good news is that the ride takes no more than 10-15 minutes.

From the very beginning of construction until July 2018, the development company Urban Group was involved in the implementation of this project. But due to the lack of investment flow, it was declared bankrupt and ceased to exist. Before this, the developer had been successfully operating for 10 years and put into operation more than 2 million square meters. m of residential real estate. All their projects had a classic architectural style and their own developed infrastructure. Before the collapse, the company had a brilliant reputation.

Some of the houses were already put into operation back in 2017; the Fund for the Protection of Shareholders promises to complete the remaining buildings by the end of 2019. Sales stopped in May 2018 and it is not yet known when they will reopen.

"Solar System-2" is the second stage of a large-scale project by Urban Group in the north-west of the city of Khimki (4.5 km from the Moscow Ring Road along Leningradskoye Shosse).
