Corsa. Compact hatchback Opel Corsa D. Cost, comfort and safety - the best offer

The fashion for small cars is gradually moving from Europe to our world. The CIS countries show a steady increase in demand for class A cars, of which there are not many on our market. Due to the lack of popularity of such cars, all manufacturers focused their activities on European countries, which are already oversaturated with competition in this class.

One of the representatives of the small class in Russia, which in the last generation has grown to the size of the B-segment, is Corsa. The current technical characteristics of the Opel Corsa and its very low cost will probably allow the new product to return to the market and gain a high position in sales.

New design - the baby is unrecognizable

If you remember previous versions of the German small class, then you will find it very interesting to compare the new product. This is a game called “find the five differences”, only in reverse. You'll have to search common features, and there are actually very few of them here.

New design matches modern trends in the development of the automotive industry as a whole and the evolution of other models of the concern, including. Among the fundamentals of new car design, the following points are worth mentioning:

  • new high and extended front optics;
  • different rear design for 3- and 5-door hatchbacks;
  • absence of excessive aggression, which usually looks funny in this class;
  • a completely new interior, which in some details resembles the updated brother of the Astra concern;
  • new rims with unusual designs.

In numerous promo photos of the Opel Corsa you can see all the subtleties appearance, but you can only get a complete image of the car through personal acquaintance. The car is no longer a baby. This is a full-fledged hatchback that can offer not just a beautiful design, but also a good comfortable fit. There is enough space in the cabin for even a very tall driver to fit.

If previous versions of the Opel Corsa were more aimed at the fair sex, now the hatchback can safely be called a youth car with a unisex philosophy.

The interior of the car has matured a lot. Here status and pleasant contrasts have been added, the previous childhood naivety has gone.

The technical part is as simple as two plus two

The equipment of the new Opel can be safely presented as two plus two. The manufacturer offers two types of engines and two gearboxes. There are four main configurations, and each has two versions, which differ in their content with comfortable and safe functions.

The engines are quite simple and uncomplicated:

  • 1.2-liter gasoline unit with a potential of 85 horsepower;
  • 100-horsepower 1.4-liter gasoline engine.

There are also two types of gearboxes; they are installed on both engines:

  • 5-speed manual with no major surprises, well tuned for a small car;
  • The 4-speed automatic is a little thoughtful, but still optimal for such a car.

Good options for technical equipment are complemented by low level fuel consumption - about 5 liters in the combined cycle. The car also has an excellent suspension that can provide a completely comfortable ride to any driver. Even after transferring to a small hatchback from a large and comfortable SUV, the driver will not feel any significant discomfort.

The new Opel Corsa 2013 is perfectly assembled, although not all the highlights from the German concern have reached Russia. For example, I would like to see a 1.3-liter diesel engine among the trim levels, which provides the small car with excellent dynamics and good traction. But the manufacturer considered that the quality of our fuel was not enough for the high-tech engine to operate well.

Cost, comfort and safety - the best offer

If we compare the cost of the car with its closest competitors, we can assume that the car has few of these same rivals in our market. There is only one serious competitor - the latest generation Ford Fiesta.

Compatriot offers more serious technical innovations with equal indicators price tag. But Opel wins in design.

The price of the Opel Corsa is quite affordable - it starts at 499 thousand rubles for the 3-door basic version and 514 thousand for the base with five doors.

The starting configuration offers a not very rich, but very worthy set of options:

  • a full set of adjustments for the driver's seat;
  • front airbags for driver and front passenger;
  • remote control of the central locking and door unlocking protection when traveling;
  • a set of child safety systems;
  • air conditioning and alarm;
  • interesting audio system;
  • preparing the car for Russian conditions operation.

Indeed, in comparison with basic version Opel's main rivals offer many more comfort options.

However, the attitude towards the model is ambiguous. In Europe, buyers preferred other models, but the CIS countries are not yet in a hurry to rush to showrooms for cars of this class.

Results and conclusions

We can safely say that the Opel concern jumped over its head by releasing such a progressive small car. It is a mile further than its predecessor in technical terms, offering the most convenient comfort features, good safety and other advantages.

It is worth noting that since the car entered the European markets, its popularity has been constantly growing. It must also be said that domestic market The baby’s appearance was well received with all sorts of publications in the press. So the company still has hope for active sales - all that remains is to monitor the market and make your choice.

Production of the Opel Corsa compact car began in 1983. In different markets, the Corsa could be sold under the names Chevrolet and Vauxhall. The first generation of the car received the index A and was first presented to the public in 1982.

Before the advent of Corsa, Opel did not produce B-class cars. The second generation of the model (Corsa B) was developed on the basis of the Opel Junior prototype shown in 1993. Based on the Corsa B, the Combo and Tigra models were created.

Over the years of production, about 6 million second-generation hatchbacks were sold. The third generation of the model (Corsa C) was produced until 2006 inclusive; in 2003 the car was modernized.

Today, dealer showrooms offer the fourth generation of the model - the Opel Corsa D. The car was presented to the public and went on sale in 2006, and was restyled in 2010.

The external dimensions of both three- and five-door Opel Corsa D hatchbacks are the same: length - 3,999 mm, width - 1,737, height - 1,488. The useful volume of the luggage compartment of a hatchback with a three-door body is (depending on the position of the seats) from 285 up to 1,050 liters; in the five-door version, the luggage compartment volume varies from 285 to 1,100 liters.

The designers gave the car's exterior a perky look. The wide “smile” of the lower section of the false radiator grille and the cleverly “squinted” headlights do not leave a trace of seriousness in the appearance of the Opel Corsa D.

The car's overhangs are not large, the wheels are located at the corners of the perimeter, the rear part continues the general design concept and looks cartoonishly light and fun. The window line of the 3-door version of the Opel Corsa D, falling down and extending towards the rear lights, imitates the shape of a coupe.

All the lines of the hatchback, which go from the front of the car to the rear, are ascending and are designed to give the small car a sporty and fast-paced note.

The interior design of the Opel Corsa D is quite simple, but original and bright. The shape of the center console is not very prominent, the number of bends on it is minimal, but this simplicity is compensated by combinations of colors and materials. The steering wheel is original and not boring, the scales on the instrument panel are laconic, but easy to read.

Initially, four engine options were offered in Russia for the Opel Corsa D. The volume of the initial power unit (in-line 3-cylinder) is 1.0 liters, maximum power is achieved at 5,300 rpm and is 65 hp, maximum torque is 90 Nm is available at 4,000 rpm. Currently, such machines are not for sale.

The second engine is an in-line “four” with a displacement of 1.2 and a power of 80 hp. at 5,600 rpm, torque - 115 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.4 liters develops 90 or 100 hp, which are available at 6,000 rpm, maximum torque is 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

Finally, the top-end powertrain option for the Opel Corsa D is a 1.6-liter engine (currently not available) that produces 150 hp. at 5,000 rpm and providing 210 Nm of torque in the crankshaft speed range from 1,850 to 5,000 rpm. All engines comply with Euro-5 environmental requirements.

The cars are equipped with four transmission options: 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, Easytronic robotic (shifting is carried out without disengaging the clutch) and 6-speed manual gearboxes.

Today on Russian market The 2014 Opel Corsa is offered in two standard trim levels: Like Edition and Color Edition.

The cost of the most affordable hatchback in a 3-door body, equipped with a 1.2-liter engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox in the Like Edition configuration, is 545,000 rubles.

The list of installed equipment includes ABS, power steering, front airbags, anti-theft alarm, steering wheel adjustment for reach and tilt, adaptive brake lights, seat belt pretensioners, electric exterior mirrors, audio preparation, “bad roads” and “bad roads” packages. cold climate”, as well as 14-inch steel wheels.

In the vast majority of cases, the selection of tires and wheels for a car Opel Corsa 2013 allows you to significantly reduce the time spent searching for a suitable option.

Without this option, the buyer had to manually search among several thousand items in the extensive assortment of the Mosavtoshina online store. In this case, there is a high probability that the selected tires or rims will not fit the car. After all, this requires car owners to have certain knowledge in this area, which most of them cannot boast of. To use all the capabilities of our automatic selection system, you only need to know the make, model and year of manufacture of your car. This information indicated by clicking the computer mouse on the corresponding inscriptions. This simple information is usually enough to automated system I have selected several options, the technical parameters of which fully meet all the requirements of the car manufacturer.

There was no choice at all before buying an Opel Corsa. The car was rented to my wife. We bought what we wanted. Korsa fell into her soul three years ago. A neighbor from the Murmansk region moved in with us. I decided to buy a car, since I am not local, and asked my wife to take him around the showrooms of Krasnodar.

While the neighbor was choosing a car for himself, the wife sat out in all the cars that were in the showrooms. I liked Corsa. By size, price tag, interior.

There was nothing to drive around our village, I still use a “kopek” (15 minutes of shame and I’m at work). My wife is an individual entrepreneur and sews curtains. There is no free money, as always. The purchase of a new car was put off until better times. But the prose of life forces you to change your plans. Serious customers began to appear for her, “kopek” is no longer the same level. It’s a shame to come to a client in a car that’s a shaggy year of manufacture.

We decided. They took it on credit. I immediately foresee comments that the loan will “gobble up” and other things like that. For the “oligarchs” I will explain my point of view. Credit is bad. But there is no other way. Take and stupidly freeze 600 sput. Money must work. It’s much easier for me to pay 20,000 a month, they are always there, than to collect 600. There is also a law of meanness (I don’t know how it works for others, but it works for me) - no matter how much you collect, there will always be a place where you really need to “lean” them. But with a loan this disappears, the loan comes first.

So about the car.

My friend and I stopped by Yug-Auto Adygea in October 2012. I decided to surprise my wife. We talked to the managers. We ordered a set. Initially I wanted a metallic blue color. It turned out that only ORS has this type. OPC is expensive, the down payment and payments, and in our village there is no need for a low overhang and a bunch of mares under the hood. Just below the OPC is the Color Edition package. We ordered it. Additional options include 17-inch black rollers and blue metallic paint (later it turned out that the factory does not paint other trim levels in it). We made an advance payment of 10,000 rubles and went home.

After some time, the managers asked to come and confirm the color change. We chose Henna. This is metallic henna. My wife liked the color. Confirmed. We left.

The car arrived on her birthday, April 2, 2013. They asked to come take a look (the roof is a different color). We arrived and liked it. They asked me to wait two weeks (they needed to collect the first payment).

Came out at a price of 605,000 rubles. The standard equipment includes 17-rollers, metallic color, and from the factory - adaptive headlights and wheel pressure sensors (bonus). The current price tag for this configuration is 673500, with a special offer (last year) - 638500.

I liked the car right away. The wheels give it an aggressive look. The seating position in the cabin is high. The feeling that you are driving in a crossover or jeep, but not in a “toddler”. There is enough space both in the back and in the front. The trunk fits our needs (we don’t carry large items, once we transported a 3-ton Intekovsky swimming pool in a box, it fit fine, the front seats didn’t move).

A little about the engine. Neither my wife nor I are racers. But she runs 140 easily. 160 runs, but it’s somehow boring to drive like that on our roads. I tried starting from traffic lights. Starts off vigorously. On the handle the machine is lively and responsive. I didn't burn rubber. But it feels like it's possible. Overtaking on the highway is easy. Some established brands are simply no match.

I won’t list which ones, I don’t want stones for my garden. I understood one thing. Opel lives up to its motto “a German quality car at a reasonable price.” By the way, our Corsa is made at a German factory.

Around the cabin. Everything is as standard. Fabric on the seats. Head unit. There is USB. Yells for real. I don’t listen to music that loudly, but the sound is good, at full volume it doesn’t growl or rattle.

The interior plastics are not very expensive in appearance, but they are not cheap either. There are no lock buttons on the door. Lockable with panel or key. One folding key + one simple spare.

Wheels. There is no spare wheel. She doesn't fit into the compartment. For 17 inches in the side wall of the trunk, a compressor and a quick repair kit. An unpleasant feature associated with these wheels. The factory does not install crankcase protection :(. So that the wheels do not catch. We found out about this at the first maintenance. Speaking of maintenance, the engine itself informs you when it needs to be done. The inscription “InSP” lights up on the odometer. After the light comes on, the owner has a week or 500 km. We completed maintenance, oil change. We stretched the suspension. Everything else is normal. The wear of the pads is 20% per year. The car was not specifically run in, we just tried not to drive more than 120. At first I ate about 10 liters on average. Driving mixed type. We live 60 km from Krasnodar and 20 from Abinsk. You have to drive around the city and on the highway. After 4000 consumption dropped. By receipts (the computer does not show expenses) average consumption up to 8 liters. Quite satisfied. Consumption depends on the quality of gasoline. 95 is better, the car is faster. We fill up with 92nd at Gazprom gas stations. It feels like they have a Rosneft 95. Lukoil is also ok.

An unpleasant feature of the gas tank. The first car that refuses to "eat". You need to pour gasoline in a thin stream. The gun hits at full power. You have to hold it with your hands and catch the cutoffs.

Extras. Seat covers must be made to order. Standard ones (like universal for everything) are not suitable due to lateral support on the seats and airbags in the backs. Relatives bought additional carpets; OD has about 2,000 rubles for a set for the interior. Others have tried it and are moving away. Flowers were glued to the sides (the car was for women). She's the only one in our area (I'm a little proud). I haven’t seen anything like this in Krasnodar either.

Repairs. Not yet. Six months later I had to look for the washer fluid reservoir. Found. Filled it up. Cleans well.

LCP. Normal, but when driving on the highway it is necessary to book. OD suggested putting another grille in front of the radiator. Due to the design of the body kit (large grille under the front bumper), stones fly into the radiator. We think.

I think I described everything.

My opinion is that it’s a youth car, moderately playful, comfortable, ideal for the city (I was driving around Krasnodar one Friday. Anyone who knows the city will understand. It’s a pity to look at the owners of Camry, Tean, Optim and other “ships”).
