The travel agency itself selects the insurance company, which, in turn, will take responsibility for providing timely assistance and paying expenses.

· depending on the duration of the trip – the longer it is, the higher the cost of insurance;

· depending on the number of people in the tourist group - for a single person, the fee for obvious reasons is always higher;

· depending on the age of the tourist, for persons over 70 years old, the amount of the insurance payment is usually twice as high.

The cause of the insured event must be a sharp deterioration in health. The insurance company must cover the costs of inpatient treatment, hospital stay, surgery and diagnostic tests. The costs of purchasing the medicine must also be reimbursed. If for medical reasons the client needs to return to his home country, the insurance company will cover this payment. A tourist can be taken home even if the payment for treatment in a hospital exceeds the norm. In cases of death, the company also pays for the repatriation of the body. If during a trip a tourist ends up in the hospital, and the return plane leaves home without him, representatives of the insurance company must help him exchange his ticket, and the term of the insurance contract is extended by four weeks. The extension is valid only once; then the tourist pays out of his own pocket.

And thirdly: close relatives (children, parents, etc.) can go on the trip with you, so you save a small amount of insurance premium when booking a tour.

True, you will have to spend time visiting the office, but citizens traveling abroad will be able to find out their capabilities in more detail, carefully read the insurance rules and find out in advance which expenses will be reimbursed to them and which will not.

Insurance in tourism is a special type that provides insurance protection property (material) interests of citizens during tourist trips, travel, shopping tours, etc.

When making a travel plan, the average tourist pays attention to anything - where and how he will relax, the number of “stars” in the hotel, total cost pleasure, completely forgetting about this “piece of paper” while staying abroad. A piece of paper-policy in the general package of documents is perceived simply as a formality. Unfortunately, rarely does anyone ever read the terms and conditions of insurance for which they have paid money while staying abroad. It’s good if it remains unclaimed.

2. Civil liability insurance

Last year, a similar proposal was made by the Public Chamber and the Public Council for Human Rights. They wanted to make the introduction of the so-called legal policy widespread and mandatory, but so far this has not happened, because in conditions of fierce competition, travel companies are trying, on the contrary, to reduce the price of insurance as much as possible. And the lack of help with current problems and makes the conclusion of such an agreement completely meaningless.

Imagine that you are set on a 2-week trip to Europe or, say, a 10-day cruise in the Mediterranean in the near future. You are already dreaming about this trip and are inspired by the fact that soon you will finally rest “soul and body”, that is, literally speaking, physically, psychologically and morally from everyday work, worries and other problems and troubles in your personal life.

You have already paid the full cost of the trip, say, for all family members, and are looking forward to the moment when you and your whole family go on a trip.

But a day or two before the expected day of departure, you call, as you were told, the travel agency to find out the place and exact time of meeting with one of the travel agency’s employees at the airport, who should issue you air tickets, visas and other necessary papers for traveling abroad.

And then a kind voice informs you about what is happening to you. a tourist visa was refused without explanation of the reason for the refusal. And after your demand to return the spent funds, the same voice will tell you that the invested money will not be returned in such cases.

You are shocked! For some people, this “gift” of fate can lead to a stroke!

Or if, after purchasing a ticket, one of your relatives, God forbid, unexpectedly “went to heaven”! It is a self-evident fact that after such a sudden misfortune that has fallen on your head, you no longer have time to travel and you are simply heartbroken.

There are often situations when, after purchasing a tourist package, someone who is passionate about going on a sea cruise or other tourist trip urgently needs emergency medical care (appendicitis, fractures, etc.)

In order for a tourist to insure himself against financial losses in the event of the impossibility of leaving in the event of unforeseen life circumstances, there is one way, or rather, a type of insurance.

This type of insurance in tourism has received the concept of non-departure insurance.

How to get insurance?

You enter into an agreement with the insurance company without leaving the travel agency’s office. At the same time, the cost of the trip for you will be slightly higher, because... insurance services most often account for 5% of total amount tours.

But in case of failure to leave due to any life circumstances that arise beyond the control of the insured, the tourist will be refunded full price tourist trips minus the consular fee for a visa. Needless to say, the 5% insurance premium paid will not be returned in any case.

However, there are also some nuances here.

The insurance will not be paid, for example, if you have previously received a visa refusal. Also, the cost of the trip will not be refunded to you if you have chronic diseases, have committed any act contrary to the legislation of the Russian Federation and are under investigation, etc., etc.

The agreement with the insurance company states that if such situations arise, this company has every right to prescribe a medical examination using its doctor, while the condition “On non-disclosure of medical confidentiality” in relation to the insurance company, of course, completely ceases to apply.

At the same time, situations cannot be ruled out when you will have to waste time and nerves going to court to protect your rights. This red tape and trips to the authorities, of course, can take more than one month.

In my opinion, travel recognizance insurance can only be concluded for “psychological reassurance,” especially in Russia, where it is often quite problematic and sometimes impossible to prove that you are right and receive compensation for moral damage.

What is insured in tourism?

Object of insurance is an insurance risk associated with unforeseen and unintentional financial expenses for the provision of various types of assistance and services, the need for which arises upon the occurrence of an insured event.

Insured events in tourism business admit:

Cases of receiving paid medical care, the need for which is caused by an accident, or an acute illness, or an acute exacerbation of a chronic disease, without which there would be real threat health problems of the Insured or his death;

Cases of unforeseen, sudden, unintentional and independent of the will of the insured, loss of ability to work (accidents);

Cases of loss of luggage, documents, or means of subsistence independent of the will of the insured;

Cases of unforeseen expenses, the need for which is caused by the emergence of general civil and motor vehicle liability;

cases of refusal to use a discounted air ticket due to illness, accident or death of the Insured, his relatives and friends;

Cases of inability to complete a planned tourist trip, if this is caused by an accident, acute illness or death of loved ones and relatives of the insured, damage to it real estate V large sizes, illegal actions of third parties;

Cases of unforeseen costs of tourism organizations caused by a tourist’s refusal to fulfill contractual obligations for the provision of tourism services;

Cases of non-fulfillment or incomplete fulfillment of contractual obligations of tourism organizations to tourists (professional liability).

In addition to those mentioned above, other events that entail unforeseen and unintended expenses of the Insured, both tourists and tourism organizations, may be recognized as insured events.

Conclusion

Currently, the tourism insurance industry provides more than a dozen types of insurance services. A tourist visiting another area or country, more local residents exposed to adverse risk factors.
