Life in a year. Healthy lifestyle and the economy: what affects the life expectancy of Russians. January. Planning skills and goal setting

Rating of Russian regions by average life expectancy in 2016

Life expectancy in Russia is highest in Ingushetia, Dagestan, Moscow, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, St. Petersburg, Karachay-Cherkessia, in Chechen Republic, Tatarstan and Stavropol Territory.

It is comfortable and convenient to live in two capitals, in the North Caucasus and in Tatarstan (the top ten in the rating of subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of life expectancy).

The second ten ranking also includes regions with a relatively warm climate for Russia: Kalmykia, Belgorod Region, Krasnodar Territory, Republic of Adygea, Penza, Moscow, Tyumen region and Mordovia. The exception is the Moscow and Tyumen regions, where their residents live longer due to the availability of jobs and relatively high level and quality of life for the Russian Federation compared to the regions at the bottom of the ranking.

The last two tens of the ranking are almost entirely made up of regions of the Far East, Siberian and northern regions: Perm Territory, Primorsky Territory, Buryatia, Komi, Kurgan region, Khakassia, Pskov region, Tver region, Novgorod region, Khabarovsk region, Magadan region, Kemerovo region, Sakhalin region,

Kamchatka Territory, Transbaikal Territory, Amur Region, Irkutsk Region, Jewish Autonomous District. region, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Republic of Tyva.

Among the unfavorable Russian regions for longevity Perm region, Kurgan, Pskov, Tver and Novgorod regions. These regions have a not very favorable climate for living and a low quality of life. Life is relatively cold and there is not much to live on - there are not enough jobs and low average incomes.

Average life expectancy in Russia for last years has grown significantly. In 2000 it was 65.3 years, and in 2016 it was 71.7. The increase in average duration occurred largely due to men. In the USSR in 1990 it was 69.1 years (the maximum for Soviet times).

Due to what factors did it grow, albeit slightly? average duration life in Russia? Firstly, some methodological modification of statistical data is possible, which is carried out in all areas of state statistics.

According to UN data and ratings, in 2016, Russia is ranked 129th in terms of average life expectancy. The average life expectancy of Russians in this study is 66.05 years. More than in the Russian Federation, among the CIS countries they live in Azerbaijan - 66.3 years, Kazakhstan - 67.35 years, Ukraine - 68.1 years, Turkmenistan - 68.35 years, Kyrgyzstan - 68.9 years, Belarus - 70, 2 years, Armenia - 72.4 years, Georgia - 76.55 years.

Life expectancy in the regions of the Russian Federation is most significantly influenced by climate and the availability of legal income (work). There is an acute shortage of jobs in the regions of the North Caucasus, but the indigenous residents of these constituent entities of the Russian Federation go to work in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the regions of the Central Federal District, the Far East, Siberia and other regions of the country where there is available work. They are also hired by private individuals for various construction projects, as was the case in the USSR. Then the inhabitants of the Caucasus built cowsheds throughout Siberia. Internal migrants send most of their earnings to their relatives.

To increase life expectancy, it is necessary to increase the level and quality of life of the population. In recent years, the standard of living of Russians, unfortunately, has been declining. Russia is one of the few countries in the world where household incomes have fallen so dramatically in recent years. It is very sad and indicative of the ineffectiveness of the existing government. From October 2014 to May 2017 real income Russians decreased by 19.2%. The standard of living of Russians has been declining for 31 months. Data on this are presented in the HSE report “Population of Russia in 2017: income, expenses and social well-being.” At the same time, the real amount of pensions from October 2014 to April 2017 fell by 6.9%.

How many times have you made a promise to change your life in the new year: learn English, find new job, lose weight, start eating right and running in the morning, quit smoking, go on a trip, sleep under the stars?

But the truth is that most of these goals wander from one year to another, waiting for their “right” time. Do you want your plans and desires to come true in 2016? Me too! That is why I plan to live this year developing and instilling in myself new useful qualities every 30 days.

Everything is simple here: come up with some task for yourself - get up early, read 50 pages of a book, learn 10 foreign words a day - and strictly complete it for a month.

You've probably heard that 30 days is about the amount of time it takes to acquire a new habit or get rid of an old one. What are you waiting for? You have 12 whole months to upgrade 12 useful skills. Here is a visual plan that I came up with.

January. Planning skills and goal setting

This is perhaps the best period for summing up, analyzing the past year and planning for the future.

Main tasks for the month:

  1. Write a detailed report on 2015, your conclusions and lessons. Analysis helps you see opportunities where others see only obstacles. That is why this point is so important.
  2. Formulate new tasks/goals/desires and a trajectory towards them.
  3. Get used to keeping a weekly journal and planning your day in the evening.

Setting goals, following a plan and achieving what you set out to do is a process that allows you to learn about your true abilities and resources. It is in movement that our soul develops.

If you don't have a global goal or can't come up with one, just choose it and start walking. Only in the process of this do new doors open to us, and our consciousness moves to a new level, where the voice of the soul becomes more and more distinct.

February. Development and harmonization of the right and left hemispheres of the brain.

This month I will be left-handed. :)

I’ve been wondering for a long time why we are all taught to write with our right hand? Why not both at once? And on the Internet you can find a lot of information that the right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for irrationality, the ability to think creatively and... for the left hand.

Have you heard about the superpowers of ambidextrous people (people who are fluent in both hands)? Well, let's test this theory. Main tasks for the month:

  1. Practice writing/drawing with your left hand every day.
  2. Move the computer mouse to the left.
  3. Do all routine tasks with your left hand: brush your teeth, surf the Internet on your smartphone, and even scratch yourself.

March. A month of sports and good mood

A sedentary lifestyle is bad for your well-being. It's time to correct this situation, and the first month of spring is the best time to start playing sports and losing weight. After all, summer will come very soon! Plan for this month: not a day without sports and interesting hiking.

So it’s time to download a pedometer app to your mobile phone and try to walk at least 10,000 steps a day, and also give up the elevator and accustom yourself to basic morning exercises.

April. Do you speak English? Upgrading English

I’ll say right away that my English is at a good level: I speak, write, and perform. But I am not going to stop there; my goal is to publish my articles in English-language publications. What will I do:

  1. Read in English daily (online portals, books in the original).
  2. Listen to English. On YouTube, you can subscribe to American or British bloggers who broadcast on any topic that interests you: beauty, health, online games, and so on. In addition, no one canceled watching films in the original, and I recently discovered film-performances (the “British Theater in Film” project) and real English-language theater ProEnglish Theater, which is located in Kyiv.
  3. Speak in English. In addition to visiting banal conversation clubs, you can pretend to be a foreigner and talk to “our people” in English. I already wrote about a similar experiment once in the article “What is it like to be a foreigner in Ukraine - I tested it on myself.” And, as it turned out, becoming a foreigner for a couple of days is a great chance to see yourself and the mentality of your country from the outside.

May. Time to get up early and get more done

The habit of getting up early is a very useful thing. Firstly, you begin to feel better and more energetic (but only if you go to bed before 12 am!), and secondly, in the morning, while everyone is still sleeping, you can do so many useful and interesting things.

The task for this month: get up every day at 5 am and thus gain yourself additional invaluable hours of free time. This time can be spent on your already improved March and April skills (sports and English), as well as on any other activities that you wanted to do, but did not have enough time.

June. Unrefined life without sugar

To finally get your body in order and tune in to a wave of health and positivity, it’s time to take the issue of proper nutrition more seriously.

That is why I want to live this month without baked goods and products that contain industrial sugar. I have already had this practice, and this time I plan to hold out for at least 4 months, including September.

Moreover, in the summer it is best to adhere to such a diet, because there is an abundance of fresh fruits, berries and vegetables around. In addition, life without sugar has a number of benefits.

Monthly plan:

  1. Sugar and buns, goodbye! And also snacks and fried pork!
  2. Long live fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts - at least 5 servings of raw foods per day.

July. A month of traveling and discovering new places

Have you ever heard of the lizard instinct? No? And you have it. :) This is one of the first human instincts - the need for scouting.

Most animals move by exploring their environment; this is the oldest of our programs, only slightly inferior in importance to the instincts of self-preservation and procreation.

If you make daily five-kilometer forced marches, periodically changing the route and looking at passers-by, shops, squares, fields or cars, your lizard will be happy.

If you exist in the “home-car-office-car-home” mode, the lizard will begin to mope, and you will start to mope along with it. I think that's why we all love to travel so much.

I don’t know how things will go with my vacation in July, but I can promise myself to at least walk every day, walk at least 5 km and visit new places.

August. Not a day without a good deed

It's not just the poor who benefit from philanthropy. In one psychology journal I read the theory of “indirect reciprocity.”

She says that many social species have a principle: an individual occupying a high position in the hierarchy demonstrates this by caring for those below her.

That is, for example, a starling that occupies a leading position in a flock will feed those who are weaker than it. But if a weak male tries to shove a grasshopper into the beak of the alpha male, then after such an insult he risks losing the feathers in his tail.

He who is the strongest takes care of everyone - this is what indirect reciprocity is, which has become a winning evolutionary strategy among social species. When we help other people, we begin to evaluate our social position higher and feel happier.

I also noticed that each person has his own area of “specialization” in the matter of good deeds. For example, for some people, helping homeless animals brings more joy and evokes more internal response than volunteer cleanups or donating money for dyslexics.

Therefore, this month I plan to figure out whether good deeds can really make a person happier and what exactly I can do good for this world.

September. Developing communication skills

The ability to communicate with people is a skill that will help you achieve success in any field. The business season is just beginning in September, and all kinds of conferences and business meetings are popping up almost every day - and this is where the ability to position, ask the right questions and charm future potential partners with your personality will come in handy.

I have identified 2 components for myself that I will need to work on:

  1. Presentation of information - how you speak, write, what turns of phrase you use, how well your voice is developed and your diction is developed.
  2. Psychology of communication - learn to better understand the interlocutor in the process of communication, be able to adapt to his emotional state and communication style, monitor gestures, facial expressions, intonation, and the emotional coloring of what is said.

The goal for this month is to learn at least one effective communication technique every day and immediately apply it.

October. Maximum concentration and increased productivity

Working as hard as possible is not always the right path to success. Sometimes working less can lead to better results.

I once read that the longer a person’s working day, the less effectively he uses his time. After all, if you are busy with something, this does not mean that you are productive.

Being productive means not so much being able to manage your time as it is about properly distributing energy. You need to learn to spend as little energy as possible in order to get as much benefit as possible.

Plans for this month:

  1. Learn to live in the present moment.
  2. Plan your affairs correctly and stop working overtime.
  3. Learn to concentrate on the task at hand and not be distracted by trifles until I complete the task.

November. Financial literacy

Oh, perhaps this will be the most difficult experiment for me, because creative people and budget planning are incompatible things. But to manage money, you need to know how much you have, where it comes from and where it goes. This is what we will dedicate our November to. Among my plans:

  1. Start a financial diary and keep track of your personal finances.
  2. Reduce the number of impulse purchases.
  3. You will also need to figure out how the economy works and sign up for an educational course like “Finance/Economics for Dummies.” :)

December. DIY miracles, or How to prepare a New Year's fairy tale

I would like to live the final 30 days of 2016 creating my own fairy tale. After all, deep down in our hearts, we all expect miracles from the New Year, an unforgettable holiday, and we believe that something good must certainly happen. But it’s stupid to sit and wait for Santa Claus, so I suggest you start acting on your own.

To begin with, you can decorate the house with homemade snowflakes and paintings “painted” by tangerines, make unusual gifts for loved ones with your own hands, play winter games with the whole family - and then the last days of the outgoing year will be remembered for a long time, and New Year’s Eve itself will give bright emotions and a boost of vigor for the whole year!

This is how I plan to live this year. I tried this technique in 2015 and realized that if you really want something, you can do anything in 30 days. It's also a great way to become the best version of yourself.

I also decided that since people are social creatures and we need mutual support like a fish needs water, it’s worth creating a special group for all those who want to follow a similar path. I called her " Good year!».

Here I plan to keep an online diary about sticking to my plan, as well as write about life hacks and inspiring ideas that will help develop this or that “skill of the month.”

If you also plan to engage in self-development this year or just want to live the next 365 days in an interesting way, join the “Good Year!” group. in "

Thoughts about how to continue to live in Russia in 2016 for ordinary people began to arise especially often when at the end of January the dollar exceeded the value of 85 rubles. This happened due to intense speculative play on the oil exchange. Such a fall in the ruble, as economists say, is a short-term phenomenon, and the situation is already stabilizing. In this regard, the authorities urged people not to panic and not to start buying household appliances and other expensive goods in stores, fearing for further price increases, as happened at the end of 2014.

Ordinary people in Russia often succumb to despondency due to constant news about the growing financial crisis. Indeed, instability in various fields economy and exchange rates, as last year, will lead in 2016 to a reduction in the production capacity of some enterprises. However, this is far from the peak of the crisis, and there should not be mass layoffs like in 2015 this year. However, in order not to be among the laid-off employees, experts recommend keeping your eyes open and having an “economic cushion” - at least small savings in your bank account.

Summarizing the previous questions, it should be noted that citizens are not recommended to massively exchange rubles for Western currencies: the dollar and euro will not grow much, but rather will only soon lose value. If you are planning trips abroad in 2016 or later, you can have an additional savings account in foreign currency. It won’t be superfluous, and organizing your vacation later will be much easier than parting with tens of rubles at the very beginning of your vacation.

Manufacturers of food products also claim that life in Russia in 2016 will hardly be more difficult for ordinary people than in previous years. The cost of products will not increase much and will be characterized only by typical seasonal ups and downs for individual groups. In addition, many stores are beginning to specifically expand their assortment, trying to accommodate more budget and affordable products.

The good news is that Russia is actively preparing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Many regional and nearby cities receive significant funding from the state to prepare for this event and acquire the proper appearance. More cultural and entertainment facilities will be built in them, the condition of roads will improve, and new types of transport will appear. Contrary to evil tongues, Russia is unlikely to face an economic collapse. The authorities are actively working to solve current problems in all spheres of life and will definitely take into account the condition and needs of ordinary citizens.

According to Rosstat, in 2016, the average life expectancy in Russia reached a record high of 71.87 years. It is reported that over the past five years average level Life expectancy in the country rose from 70.2 years (2012) to 71.87 years (2016). People who live in Russia the longest are Ingushetia, Dagestan and Moscow - more than 77 years.

According to Rosstat, . People in Russia live the longest in the North Caucasus federal district– 75 years old. For example, in Ingushetia, life expectancy is 80.8 years. Moreover, women here live longer than men by almost seven years.

The top three record-breaking regions also include Dagestan – 77.2 years and Moscow – 77 years.

In addition, Rosstat named regions with lower life expectancy: in Tyva - 64.2 years, in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug– 64.4 years and the Jewish Autonomous Region – 65.8 years. The difference between the record holders and the most recent regions is more than 15 years.

“The regions have extremely low prospects, there are no opportunities for a healthy and successful life”

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Demography, Migration and regional development Yuri Krupnov told the site that the high life expectancy in Moscow is due to accessibility medical care, and in Ingushetia and Dagestan - with the availability of high-quality and fresh products.

"In addition, this is due to the large migration influx of young people. In Ingushetia, there is a high birth rate and a large number of youth in the structure demographic population, this is potentially attributed to high life expectancy. In Moscow this is due to a decrease infant mortality, which is also taken into account in life expectancy. Big percentage rural residents in Ingushetia and Dagestan have access to greens and fresh meat, which also matters,” the expert noted.

“People are susceptible to injuries and have unhealthy habits. In addition, the regions have extremely low prospects, there are no opportunities for a healthy and successful life,” the demographer said.

According to Krupnov, the current life expectancy indicator has returned to the values of 1991.

“And during this time, the world has moved forward six years. Advanced countries are showing us that we need to pay more attention to a healthy lifestyle and longevity,” he concluded.

Leaders and Outsiders

Andorra leads in life expectancy in 2016, where the average life expectancy for women was 82.75 years and for men 80.4 years. Japan is in second place - 78.7 and 85.6, respectively. Russia occupies 129th place in this ranking and is located next to the Bahamas and Guyana.

In the CIS countries, the average life expectancy is 69.7 years. In Azerbaijan they live 66.3 years, in Kazakhstan – 67.35 years, in Turkmenistan – 68.35 years, in Kyrgyzstan – 68.9 years, in Belarus – 70.2 years, in Armenia – 72.4 years.

At the very bottom of the list are African countries where civil wars and military conflicts are currently taking place: Zambia, Angola and Swaziland - life expectancy for women is 39.5, for men - 37.65.

“The increase in life expectancy in Moscow can be explained by the fashion for a healthy lifestyle”

According to Director of the Eurasian Health Association Andrey Golovin, it has been established that the environmental factor has an impact on life expectancy. Moreover, favorable environment may have a positive effect on reducing the influence of the genetic factor on shortening life expectancy.

"In this regard, it can be stated that for Ingushetia and Dagestan this factor is really significant. In addition, it is necessary to take into account the family, tribal and religious traditions of these regions, which significantly limit the consumption of alcohol and tobacco by their residents. As is known, it is consumption alcohol and tobacco are considered the main causes of cardiovascular diseases, which are the basis for the high mortality rate of the male population of Russia,” he said.

He also noted that the situation in Moscow is somewhat different, where the environmental factor cannot be considered significant, since the capital is considered one of the most environmentally unfavorable regions of the Russian Federation.

“The increase in life expectancy in Moscow can be explained by the fashion for a healthy lifestyle and visiting fitness centers, reducing excess weight, as well as general increase level of medical care,” the expert believes.

In addition, Golovin identified other factors that could influence the increase in life expectancy - this is the level of medical care for the population, including high-tech, a decrease in tobacco and alcohol consumption caused by legal restrictions, fashion for an active lifestyle among young people.

According to Andrei Golovin, the main influence on life expectancy is the absence of stressful situations.

“Psychological comfort, combined with a genetic predisposition to longevity, regular medical examinations and satisfaction from life (having and achieving set life goals), allows a person to live a long, fulfilling and happy life,” the expert emphasized.

Demographic crisis

Earlier, experts in demographics told the site that.

Such conclusions Scientific Director of the Independent Institute of Family and Demography Igor Beloborodov made based on marriage statistics for 2016.

"In 2016, there were 200 thousand fewer marriages than in previous years. This ( demographic crisis– website) is already taking place, which only confirms my conclusions that we need to work with those who are ready to give birth. The state owes them ( large families– website) show what they are social status will grow proportionally to the number of children in the family,” Beloborodov concluded.

The New Year will bring many changes to Russians. Ban on the import of Turkish vegetables and fruits, discounts for prompt payment of traffic police fines, growth minimum wage, higher prices for train tickets and restrictions on luxury for officials - and that’s not all. Lenta.ru looked at how life in the country will change from January 1.

Ban on Turkish

Starting from the New Year, some products from Turkey will be imported into Russia. There are a total of 17 items on the list. In particular, tomatoes, strawberries, cauliflower, broccoli, oranges, tangerines, grapes, apples, pears and apricots were subject to the embargo. Also outlawed were Turkish cloves, chicken and turkey carcasses, and even salt. Restrictions do not apply to goods “imported for personal use to the extent permitted by the law of the Eurasian Economic Union.”

The procedure for disposal of products has not yet been approved.

Russian employers should hire Turkish citizens. An exception was made for 53 companies and organizations operating, in particular, in the field of construction, the automobile industry, and the production of building materials.

Product embargo against Ukraine

On January 1, a ban on the import of certain agricultural products, raw materials and food from Ukraine into Russia comes into force. In this way, the Russian authorities expect to protect their market from sanctioned goods from EU countries.

Nevertheless, Rosselkhoznadzor is confident that Russians should not be afraid of food shortages this time either.

Minimum wage increase

Minimum size wages (minimum wage) from the beginning of 2016 by four percent - by 236 rubles. Now the minimum wage is 6201 rubles (it was 5965 rubles).

The increase is expected to affect about 700 thousand Russians. 43 percent of them work in government and municipal institutions, 57 percent represent real sector economy.

The minimum wage is necessary to determine the amount of benefits for temporary disability, as well as taxes, fines and other payments. Employers do not have the right to pay employees a monthly salary below the minimum wage. The minimum wage is estimated at 53.6 percent of the projected value living wage able-bodied citizens.

Restrictions for officials

From January 1, Russian ministers and their deputies will have to buy for budget resources cars more expensive than 2.5 million rubles and more powerful than 200 Horse power. Lower-ranking officials, for example, heads of ministerial departments, will have to spend on cars no more than 1.5 million rubles from the budget.

The maximum cost of smartphones for civil servants is also set. Ministers and their deputies can afford a gadget for 15 thousand rubles, their assistants - for 10 thousand, and specialists from ministries and departments - for 5 thousand rubles.

However, authorities retain the right to independently set requirements for purchased computers, laptops, tablets, and buses.

Every tenth official will be fired

A government decree has come into force to lay off every tenth civil servant in the country. The document was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on December 11.

“There is a 10 percent reduction in the number of civil servants and workers central offices and territorial bodies of federal ministries, federal services And federal agencies, the activities of which are managed by the Russian government, federal services and federal agencies subordinate to these federal ministries,” the resolution says.

This is just one of the measures to reduce budget expenditures on the maintenance of the state apparatus. In early December, Russian President Vladimir Putin cut his salary by 10 percent for 2016, the salaries of the head of government, the prosecutor general and the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR), as well as employees of the presidential administration, the apparatus of the Accounts Chamber of Russia and the government apparatus.

New rules for passing the driver's license exam

From January there are new rules for passing exams for future drivers. The tests, as before, consist of three stages: a theoretical exam, a test site (a test of initial driving skills) and an exam in the city. However, when passing the theory, after each miss you will have to answer five additional questions. Penalty points will be awarded for incorrect actions during the practical exam. Additional exercises are introduced for the on-site exam.

Discounted fines

In 2016, drivers were allowed half the amount of the traffic police fine. But only within 20 days from the date of drawing up the protocol. Discounts do not apply to a number of serious violations - driving while intoxicated, speeding by more than 40 kilometers per hour, driving in the oncoming lane, running a red light - and fines of less than 500 rubles.

Lose the right to sell alcohol. According to Opora Rossii, by mid-December only 10 percent of Moscow restaurants had connected to the system.

Rosalkogolregulirovanie assured that we are not talking about a shortage of alcohol and the closure of retail outlets.

Increase in penalties for housing and communal services debts

Effective January 1st Housing Code, increasing fines for citizens who fail to pay public utilities. There are no penalties for delays by a month. If payments are delayed from 31 to 90 days, the amount of penalties currently in effect will remain, and if the debt is not repaid within this period, the fine will increase by 2.5 times.
